The Brackenridge Tract is a 360-acre property in southwest Austin that was donated to the University of Texas in 1910 to be used for the benefit of the University.
Bracken City Limits transforms this important area of the city by reclaiming a beautiful waterfront as a public amenity, increasing connectivity with downtown Austin, and providing multiple options for living in a rapidly growing city.
Lake Austin Boulevard will be restored to its historical role as the built edge of the city, creating an extensive public waterfront park and a wide array of developed living options. The unique juxtaposition of city and landscape emphasizes Austin’s emergence as one of the premier landscape cities in the nation. Bracken City Limits shows that the interests of the University and the interests of the city are not mutually exclusive.
Bracken City Mehrgenerationenhäuser, developed individually within the framework and vision of the Bracken City Limits master plan, proposes a prototype senior living and childcare community center, which offers flexible housing options for Austin’s diverse and growing senior population while providing enriching community benefits.
